This disclosure is for Disk Space Analyzer notes. File links go to GitHub Releases. Installers stay on that GitHub account. Publisher details sit on about. Analytics and cookies sit on privacy.
Ads are currently off
No display network script ships. Ad IDs stay empty. Guides under guides are not for sale. The winget command is the official package id from the README and winget-pkgs, not a paid placement:
winget install -e --id WinDirStat.WinDirStat Because ads are off, contact has no advertising enquiry channel. Skip a media kit expecting a slot. Privacy for the lack of ad cookies is on privacy. The compare with WizTree is a same-job note, not a paid rank: versus WizTree.
No fake download button
A fake download button is an ad or a wrapper dressed as the installer. These notes ship none. The Windows x64 setup matches WinDirStat-x64.msi on the current GitHub release. ARM64 and x86 MSI files, portable zip, portable 7z, and MSIX sit on the same tag. Softonic, CNET, and unofficial sites that wrap the name are the pattern to walk past. Fetch notes: download safely. Asset chooser: releases. Repo: GitHub.
Home repeats the same official command and the same GitHub account. See home and how to install winget. Winget still leaves the bits on Microsoft's package source and on GitHub. A second big control outside those paths would be the fake download this disclosure forbids.
If ads are enabled later
If a display network is approved later, this disclosure will be updated before the script ships. The rules below are the ceiling, not a menu of extras.
- Display ads only. Standard labeled units. No native advertorial that looks like a guide.
- No affiliate links. No cut on GitHub, winget, the Microsoft Store listing, Chocolatey, Scoop, WizTree, TreeSize, or SpaceSniffer.
- No sponsored content. A compare note cannot be paid to prefer WinDirStat or to prefer WizTree, TreeSize, or SpaceSniffer.
- No vendor payment. Payment from the WinDirStat Team for a command, a rank, or a filename is absent. Payment from competitors is absent too.
Placement limits if ads go on: units stay out of the install command and out of the space between the heading and the winget line. Units stay off the GitHub file link under the command. A labeled unit may sit after the install notes, never as a second exe file. The disclosure here will name the network when one exists. Until it names one, treat ads as off.
Who pays for placement
Nobody, today. WinDirStat is free under GPL-2.0. There is no paid tier in the README. WizTree, TreeSize Free, and SpaceSniffer are described from their own pages when a fact is quoted. None of those links are affiliate. How those facts are checked: editorial policy.
Checking storage with Explorer folder Properties, picking an MSI, and reading a treemap are unpaid howtos under check storage on a PC and guides.
Where the install command lives
The command is a README and winget-pkgs fact, verified against that tree on 2026-09-02. It is the same string on home and in these notes. Changing it for a sponsor would be a factual error. Report that kind of drift with four facts on contact. Product bugs still go to GitHub Issues. The current release tag on the stamp comes from GitHub at build, so a paid latest-version badge never has a place to sit.
